It’s all about purses….

It all started with this little darling!  It’s called a Candy Stripe Crochet Purse by Kyoko and came in a pretty box as a complete kit although I think you can buy the frame and the pattern separately as well. The whole purse took me about an hour and a half to crochet and another half hour to sew it to the frame in the evening.  I took the kit with me to make whilst Barry was in a meeting last Friday.  I stayed in the car park crocheting, bliss!

It is perfect for my lippy or keys…I love it.  I used a size smaller crochet hook as I tend to crochet a bit loose and I didn’t want a purse with a baggy floppy disposition!

So then, I made some more bags, sewn this time, this one is the gorgeously useful ‘Hex Knitting and Craft Tote Bag’ from Lisa Lam at U Handbag.  She is such a clever designer and I have another design I am itching to sew, hopefully sometime over the weekend.  I have made myself this knitting bag and also made one for my daughter Ali, we both love them, such a useful size and the clever pull open push closed fastening is ingenious! I will make more of these.  Incidentally, this one has sold already and I am over the moon.  It takes a fair few hours to construct one of these and pricing it caused me some anguish.  Selling it at the price I felt it was worth has given me the confidence to make more…..

These little ‘Fortune Cookie Clutch’ bags are such fun to make.  The one below, I bought as a kit and quickly assembled it.  I love the clicky clasp fastening.  It is surprisingly roomy inside and is perfect for a grab bag for when you have to dash out in a hurry.

My mobile, keys, lippy and money all fit in nicely…..

Well now it is Easter weekend. We are looking forward to a restful time, watching some seeds pop up in the greenhouse, cooking roast lamb, knitting….maybe visiting family.  Maisie is with us, so we are having a good time already.  She has just made me some spaghetti on hot buttered toast and a coffee.  What an old fashioned treat that was.
Next weekend we are going down to Deven to see Ali, Jez and the little ones…looking forward to seeing them all again.  Oh and Happy Birthday for tomorrow Emilia, I can hardly believe you are eight!!
I have updated my shop with lots of Fluff-n-Stuff and will be adding more bits and bobs as the week goes on….

And there you go — you’ve made one very similar. Thanks for the link! And…ok, really. Can you Please show a picture of spaghetti and toast? It sounds fantastic, but I’ve never heard of it!!!

  6. I had a moment yesterday with the knitting bag – unfortunately it was not really my colour – but was excited and drawn by the construction – any chance of purples/greens – anything dark which doesn’t show the dirt – cuz I am travelling so much? !!!hugs and inspirational shani
