Vogue 9293

My husband is working away in Australia at the moment.
I’ve been taking advantage of the extra time and trying to make the ‘missing him’ feelings go away by decluttering our cottage and sewing

I spent yesterday sewing this lovely dress, having cut it out the day before. There was a time when I could cut out and sew a dress in one day! Well one evening and into the small hours as my 4 children kept me busy in the daytime 🙂

Just 6 pattern pieces which went together beautifully

I chose the size that matched my bust measurement and the only alteration that I had to do was to make the back neck a bit narrower
which is something I need to do with most patterns that use a woven fabric

I also made my own bias binding which I love to do if I have enough fabric available

Highly recommend this pattern!

I used a lovely light cotton poplin fabric with a slight stretch from 1st for Fabrics

Hope you’re enjoying the sunshine, I know I am…

It’s hard to see but the bodice crosses over…I love the neat fit of this dress and it has pockets!!!

I’ll include a photo of the pattern so you can see the shape of it

I feel this is a pattern that I’ll use a few times….

It’s my sewing group this afternoon, I need to get my project together or I’ll be twiddling my thumbs all afternoon!

About picperfic

I dye luxurious fibre blends for spinners and felters, and sew beautiful bags, project bags and needle/hook organisers to a very high standard, using designer fabrics and then I photograph them!
